Sydney | Underwater Maternity Photography

More than a portrait, underwater photos are a beautiful, artistic and unique way to capture your pregnancy. The photos celebrate your pregnancy with grace and in nature, especially fitting if you’re a water baby at heart yourself.

An underwater session includes a range of gorgeous photos – we start on the beach or in the area, then make our way into the water and shoot above and below the water, and then immersed, having fun capturing you. We also include detail images (you might want to think about your nails, as they are very likely to feature in the photos) and atmospheric landscape shots, depending on the location.

You don’t have to be an Olympic-level swimmer or deep-sea diver to make the most of the session – we can take gorgeous in-water photos without having to put your head under. The more comfortable you feel in the water, the more we can vary what we shoot.

Wear what you feel comfortable in – a swimsuit or bikini, or even a dress. One of our favourite shoots is with a simple satin dress which looked gorgeous underwater. A sarong also works well.

We always keep an eye on the weather – ideally, we like full sunshine and clear water to get the most light under the water, but sometimes Mother Nature works in interesting ways and an overcast day can deliver otherworldly conditions and amazing photos. Be prepared though to possibly move locations, time or date to make the most of your session.
