Sydney Family Photographer
Your family, photographed in a relaxed, natural, playful way
I make families feel at ease and capture moments together that feel real and look gorgeous, artistic and authentic, and I aim for you to have the best experience possible.
Babies, toddlers, kids of all ages – we plan your shoot around your family for an emotive collection of photos, and a relaxed experience.
Find a time that works best for everyone, and we can plan the perfect location, take our time (or be quick, whatever your family needs), and capture the little and big things about your family.
Family Photography
I usually do family photoshoots outside, in your favourite happy place location so it’s familiar to your kids so they feel comfortable. I am used to working with kids and will make them feel relaxed, and you too. Family photography sessions are surprisingly fun, and the photoshoot usually takes about an hour or just over, depending on how many spots we use.
The booking process is super easy, just like our shoots. We are fully set up online with all the info you need and will discuss with you in real life or on email, where you’d like to shoot and the vibe you’re after.
Booking process – the need-to-know basics
For family photoshoots, book HERE.
Once a booking request is created, a deposit of $250 is required to confirm the booking. Payment is required within 48 hours, otherwise, the booking expires. I only take a few bookings a week so enquire early to avoid disappointment.
Pre-shoot consultation
Once the booking is paid in full, and therefore confirmed, you’ll receive an invitation to online welcome page where you’ll find tips on how to prepare for the session, what to wear (the most frequently asked question) and more, as well as a questionnaire to introduce your family, and a model release form.
I will be in touch to discuss ideas for the shoot as well as a location, via email or phone. Feel free to ask any questions as we go through the process. Knowing what you’d like from your photographs, and how you may use and present them – a print, frame, photo book or just digital photos to share, ahead of time is really helpful so we create photos you really love.
Editing
Your photographs will be lovingly edited. I spend a great deal of care editing each photograph – creating both a colour and black and white version of each image. The hours spent in post-production result in a series of striking images that will work well together as a series, or that can be printed or framed individually.
Retouching
Within your package comes an edit of your photos from over a few hundred photos taken. I make sure the images look great by balancing the colours and tones. Should you wish to have any beauty retouching done – for example, a hair out of place, remove something from the image, spots/pimples, or resize – basically a little boost to the photo, please enquire and I can give you an estimate of the price.
Viewing your photographs
Within 3 to 4 weeks, the images are emailed via a password-protected private gallery for viewing and selecting your images or for downloading.
Your edit will include all images in colour and black and white, and both high res for printing and low res to share online.
I strongly believe in printing the images to have a physical copy, so your gorgeous photos don’t disappear down the photo file rabbit hole.
You can order prints and products directly from your gallery.
I am not here to do a hard sell - you’ll have the option when the final files are delivered to look at options yourselves on the website.

FAQs
-
I am always happy to reschedule if the germs doing the rounds have taken hold just get in touch and we will work something out.
-
Start with yourself and work around what you feel comfortable wearing. You don’t need a colour theme, though complementary colours work well. Something everyone likes and feels good in. We have lots of tips in the Journal section What to Wear for Your Family Photoshoot.
-
I have been there! So, no problem or judging there. Kids are kids and arguing, meltdowns and tantrums are part of being a little child with big feelings. We know when to take a break, and when to talk them round.
-
Wind and clouds can look beautiful and dramatic, and overcast skies can work too, but if it’s raining, we’ll reschedule.
-
Yes, I can accommodate up to six adults (say two sets of grandparents) for some special family group shots.
-
Yes! The winter light is really nice and the sunsets are much earlier so the timing is great for young families – shooting at sunset is beautiful and you don’t have to wait until 8pm, like we do in the summer!
-
My style is natural, capturing you and your family as you are in real life. I don’t go for traditional posing or group shots, but I do make sure we get everyone looking at the camera, as well as more candid shots.
-
No, sorry I don’t. I’ve done this in the past but it’s not something I can accommodate now.
-
It can be at your home or a backyard, but I mostly shoot family sessions in the beautiful outdoors – on the beach, rocks, bush reserves or anywhere that’s your special place. However, the choice is yours and it works well to be in meaningful, authentic for your family. I can make suggestions and chat about a location that suits you and your family.
-
Absolutely. I offer custom-designed albums, keepsakes, and professional prints that you can order directly from your gallery after the session.
