Why family portraits are one of the best investments you can make.

It’s quite simple really. There is nothing more important than family. We truly believe you should invest in a photography session as they are a way to capture a moment, preserving a time and space in your family's life that will never be that way again.

Tomorrow your children will be slightly bigger than they are today with each year seeming to pass by even quicker than the last. Inside each of these years, there are hundreds, if not thousands of precious moments waiting to be captured. From annual trips to your family's favourite holiday home to the first time (successfully) riding a bicycle, right through to the simplicity of a lazy afternoon at home. It seems we can blink and months have somehow slipped through our fingers.

Perhaps you just don’t see the value in paying someone for photos now that everyone is walking around with a camera in their pocket. Or maybe you’re just terrified to step in front of the camera yourself. Whatever the reason may be, we are here to urge you to reconsider (you’ll thank us for it later). Plus, they make great Christmas cards.

If for some reason we still haven’t been able to convince you of the importance of family photos, these 5 sure will...

Lifestyle Family Photography document a precious moment in time.

To say that time moves fast after kids enter the scene would be an understatement. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. Just think about it. How many times have you flicked through your camera roll and thought “wow they’ve grown so much, even in the last 6-months”? It’s easy to think you’ll remember each stage as if it were yesterday but sadly those memories can fade. You’ll be thankful for these precious photos capturing various stages of life.

Family Photoshoot is a whole lotta fun.

Put simply, our sessions are fun and they are a great opportunity to bring your family together, reminding us of what really matters in life. I try to keep these sessions as authentic and casual as the family behind the lens. It’s basically just one whole hour hanging out with your loved ones with an additional plus one to capture it all. We encourage kids to be adventurous. If they are running around, good. Great actually. All rules are off the table. This shouldn’t feel like a chore, these sessions are all about trying to have fun!

You’re getting mum (or dad) out from behind the lens.

It’s easy to think we’ve all acquired the title of ‘photographer’ now everyone has smartphones in their pockets. But sometimes, these ‘self-taken’ family photos seem to usually end in one of two ways. Number one, a rather awkward encounter with some innocent bypasser, who let’s face it usually ends up cropping out a family member or doesn’t realise their thumb is taking up some prime real estate. Number two, after the above terrible attempt with a bypasser either mum or dad, has to step behind the lens leaving them without a photo. Not ideal.

You’re getting higher quality shots.

Having a professional taking your photos opens up a numerous possibilities for your family photoshoot. Not only will the captured shots be of a higher quality due to the equipment used, but we are trained to see more than meets the eye. This means we look for noteworthy lighting and your best angles to ensure you receive the highest quality of shots.

Family Photographs last a lifetime.

Capturing these genuine moments create photographs you will cherish forever and something which can be passed on through generations. Years from now, when you are old and gray, you and your children will look back on and be hit with a flood of memories, reminding you of what that moment felt like.

We may be biased, but we truly do believe families should be investing in better photos. Our goal is to capture candid and simple moments before they are gone. We accomplish that by blending a lifestyle and documentary-style to create photos centered around emotion, injecting warmth every shot. If you’ve been thinking about investing in a family photography session this is the sign you’ve been waiting for.
