The Gift of the Family Photos

Amie and Sam were gifted a photography session from family overseas.

Our session was a Christmas present from my parents-in-law from England who bought us the photography gift voucher. Sam’s parents have already viewed the photos and are beyond delighted with the outcome and commented that the session and photos are excellent value for money.

The beach location and timing were perfect. We had our photo session at sunrise, which was absolutely stunning. The sunrise was so vivid, there was a slight breeze with huge crashing waves. North Curl Curl is a sentimental location for us, as that’s where we spent a lot of our time as a couple and also now following the birth of our son Bill.

We wanted Elena to capture candid and relaxed photos that showed the love we have for each other as a couple and now as a new family.

Elena guided the experience and explained her vision really well. We felt very relaxed throughout the photography session, I had never experienced a professional photography session before and Elena made it a really trusting and enjoyable one. Elena explained that she knew the North Curl Curl location well and had some great suggestions for photos. Sam and I were open to suggestions and happy to go with the flow, however, Elena did ask if we wanted anything specific for the photography session, which we didn’t so we were very happy to be guided.

When I first saw the images, I cried with sheer happiness! The photos far exceeded our expectations and I was delighted that we had captured such amazing memories to share with both our families overseas, who have yet to meet Bill due to the recent pandemic.

We will share the photos with both our families so it’s the gift that is ongoing. We’ll also frame some for our house.

For what to wear, I read Little Manly Photography’s website and gained suggestions for the shoot - we decided on natural and neutral clothing.

If you’re thinking of doing a photo session, most of all enjoy the experience, knowing that Elena will capture some really special and emotive memories, whilst putting you at ease. We were so happy with our decision to opt for a location shoot and would highly recommend this, we did check the weather report prior to scheduling our sunrise shoot. Paying attention to detail also helps, painting your nails for those close-up photos. We also chose to bring a memento, Bill’s white blanket that was given to him by his paternal grandparents, and we used it in the photoshoot.
